Our organization was established in 1985 to provide viable solutions in support of the electronics manufacturing industry and our valued customers/partners. We have established relationships with manufacturers of various lines of products, ranging from consumable items to capital equipment. We also remain active in various industrial forums, such as the Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA) that provides valuable information for manufacturers, including the organization of informational meeting that cover the hottest topics of the industry at the current time. Gerri Noble is the current treasurer for the Great Lakes Chapter of the SMTA.

On our Website you will find access to valuable information, such as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), Technical Data Sheets (TDS), Sample Request forms and access to various technical articles in our knowledge base sections.

We are proud to announce the addition of Yxlon FeinFocus to our linecard for the state of Illinois.  Yxlon International is the leading supplier of X-ray Inspection Systems and Computed Tomography Solutions (3D) for the non-destructive testing of materials (NDT). Some key points on Yxlon FeinFocus are:

  • Founded by Alfred Reinhold in 1982

  • Headquarters in Hamburg, Germany; Subsidiaries in Akron, OH, San Jose, CA and Shanghai, China

Do you want to improve your inspection process without adding the cost or the headaches of an AOI system?  If so, ask us about the Cluso Visual Inspection System or click here.

The Cluso system is designed as an entry level inspection system that gives you process control over your initial inspection process, without the hassle of programming an AOI system or tending to all the false calls generated by marginal defects.  The Cluso system is perfect for New Product Introduction (NPI) and Prototype applications where throughput at this point doesn't justify the implementation of an AOI system, but you want more control than an operator, Bill of Materials (BOM) and a Microscope.

The Cluso basically combines the BOM/CAD data, golden board scan and the current board and displays all the information onto a monitor.  This makes it easier on the operator, as going back and forth between a microscope and BOM/CAD data design specs, can allow for error and delays in the inspection process.

AOI is not a solid solution for NPI or Prototyping applications, as the throughput is not there to justify the costs associated with AOI, from initial machine costs, to the assigning of an engineer to monitor the AOI unit, etc.  The Cluso provides you a viable solution from a performance aspect and cost to provide inspection capabilities to your NPI and Prototyping process.

The Cluso is using a line scanning technology that is optimized for the scanning of PCB boards and circuits.  Scan times are quick and quality is high, although scan times can vary dependent on the density of the board and the size of components.  The denser populated the board is, the higher DPI (Dots per inch) the scanner needs to operate.

If you would like information on the unit please give us a call.  This unit is new technology and even though it is technically associated with AOI, it really falls into it's own category as it's niche is on a different scale than AOI as we generally understand.
